One Cotton On Foundation item (tissues, mints, totes, water bottles) is sold every 2.5 seconds in the Cotton On Group’s 1500 stores in 18 countries - raising almost $100M AUD, through the purchase of charity items, which has changed the lives tens of thousands of people through the delivery of quality education programs in Uganda, South Africa, Thailand and Australia.
From the success of this work, the Foundation will announce a partnership with Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation initiative. Together the organizations will deliver the first Girl Up leadership program in Uganda to reach 2,000 girls. Additionally, funds raised through a joint campaign will support over 7,000 girls in Cotton On Foundation partner schools through programs that overcome barriers preventing girls from attending school, addressing statistics such as;
§ 61 million primary school aged children are not in school, more than half are girls.
§ 25% of girls never finish primary school.
§ According to UNICEF, one in six girls in Africa miss school due to menstruation.
Funds will be raised through the sale of this limited edition capsule collection going on sale online and in store on 9.23 and will retail at $14.99
The Foundation has been working hand in hand to create lasting change, with projects falling under the pillars of education, infrastructure, healthcare and sustainability. The Foundation’s unique proposition is that it delivers the projects it raises funds for, in partnership with communities. Also of note, the Group is the only Australian retailer with a registered NGO.
Many brands create charity capsules, but few can share $100M AUD raised, with such lasting and meaningful impact!
